Hi there {name},

I've been looking forward to writing this update to you. Not just because it's the final 2nd Tuesday missive of the year, but because amidst all the activity & chaos that acompanied this year, I always new this day would come. Now, it may seem anti-climatic since I'm not announcing a major book deal or new job title or the signing of one contract or another, but let me explain. Looking at the comics and other content filling our MUSEletter Archive reveals 50 of these missives have been ent since March of 2021, nearly all of which have hit inboxes that 2nd Tuesday. I may not know exactly what I'll write in any one of these updates, but in having that commitment I've gotten pretty good at finding something to share with you.

It's almost a tradition that I create some holiday themed art at this time of year. I rarely leave enough time to make them viable products for my online store, but coincidentally, I was just complemented on the art from a previous such project: Holiday Magic on REDbubble.com.

this Year's piece is special in a different way. The idea came to me in one of those flashes of inspiration my art teachers would mock me for "you can't wait around for those" one would say. So, I worked out a couple of sketches the night before and scanned the cleanest one just last week. I then dedicated almost exactly one hour to transforming that scan into  a finished piece. You can see video of that hour, compressed into the 1 minute, just below.

A side effect of compressing that hour of screen recording into one minute (30 seconding if you've seen it on my socials) resulted in an extra round of exporting. So I also have a 5 minute version which I've  uploaded. I figure anyone interested in a closer look at techniques involved, might appreciate that detailed view. You can watch that video here.

With all that said (written), I'll bring this missive to a close with a heart-felt thank you for taking part in the chronicling of this creative journey. As always, you are most welcome to reply. I love those warm brief connections, but it's the holiday season, so I'll understand if I don't hear (read) from you. Maybe we can all do a year-in-review sometime in January?
