I hate to admit it, but I’m falling behind on some July commitments. I’ve still got a San Diego Comic-Con article to deliver. Added to that, some book reviews and other posts are piling up. But this email is about the things I think you need to know now! So let’s get right to why I’m writing you –

On Sunday August 24th I’ll be among the vendors selling their wears in the Faction Brewing Beer Garden - this year’s new and much larger venue for CAPE & COWL CON. The event runs from 11:AM to 6:PM  right here in Alameda - the small island hidden in San Francisco’s east bay; it’s where The Matrix was filmed. Faction Brewing: 2501 Monarch St, Alameda, CA 94501

At my booth I’ll be selling stickers, for the casual purchase, and original art for those inclined towards high-end purchases. Art previously displayed at The Sun Gallery. As for books: along with some special editions there will be copies of A TIGER’s TALE volumes 1&2 (including a small number of Sketch-Edition covers), my easy-reader LUCY VELOZ: HIGH-FLYING PRINCESS and Artist’s Editions of LITTLE MONK & THE MANTIS. Also, I’ll have for sale 10 copies of this year’s multi-media graphic novel BOX OF TAPES: A Rock Opera - which will include an exclusive invite to a live listening party.

Also happening on Sunday August 24th (starting at 4:PM PST) - The Eargoggle will be hosting a live listening party for the BOX OF TAPES rock opera on Bandcamp.com. 

I will still be at my booth when the party starts so I’ll call in from the Con. More importantly, anyone buying a copy of Box of Tapes will also receive an invite to the event, so they can join in from their phone right there and then.

Earlier this month I announced my plans to launch a new comic project on Kickstarter. Undead Kungfu Ghost Killer will be a traditional issue #1 comic launching on Wednesday October 1st. Our Kickstarter page is now public and collecting follows. 

I hurried to get this page up sooner than I’d planned so that I can invite folks to visit the page during the convention. I’ve even planned a whole interactive game of chance to play - Scan-the-code-and-spin-the-wheel to Win a Mystery Book. I’ll be giving away a dozen or more books culled from the PLUGOarts library. All of these efforts are aimed at getting that follower count up as high as possible, now that I’m looking to get new eyes on the project.

I’ve mentioned, in the past, how valuable that follower count is to a crowdfunding campaign. In short, it indicates to the Kickstarter algorithm that this is a project worth spotlighting which greatly increases its chances of success. It only takes a few moments (two clicks & maybe a log-in) to help max-out this project’s chance of success. I still have a bunch to do in preparation for this weekend. I hope to see some of you on Sunday and hopefully that 22 followers count will be way larger by then...
