Howdy {name},
Welcome, those of you who are receiving this for the first time. Some of you are new acquaintances and some go a ways back and are owed an update from me. So I hope you don't mind that I've added you here.

So yeah, Halloween already, not really, but you know. I feel Like I've been planning for Fall for ages and I still don't feel ready for it. But apparently it's face your fears day today so let me share with you what I have gotten done thus far.

I've contributed a 3rd cover to the MonkeyShines.media zine and it kind of different that the previous two. It's actually a photograph taken by my good friend Donovan Rittenbach. The photo is of a custom skate-deck I painted over the 2020 shelter-in-place. A good example of coping via creativity. The resulting time-lapse-recording ended up in the hands of another good friend, the Jazz musician Mitch Marcus who composed an original score for that video; another example of coping via creativity. The folks at MonkeyShines graciously agreed to host this media as well as the sheet-music of Mitch's composition. You can also download the digital version of the 'zine there or request a hard-copy (while still available).

Additional updates include some recent articles, and my new show which you can learn about below. After that you find the latest update on my graphic novel project A Tiger's Tale. And finally, your Halloween treat; the latest episode of IMPERFEComics: Calling Sister Rita.

16 weeks remaining for the Launch of A Tiger's Tale Campaign

As I've mentioned before, I launched aTigersTale.com as a platform for promoting the graphic novel's February 1st 2022 launch. Subscribers to talk@aTigersTale.com have begun to receive email exclusives which are later posted publicly. Below is September's exclusive penned by my co-host at The Comics Fu Show, Sifu Kurtis Fujita. October's exclusive is scheduled for next week and more surprises will be surfacing. I'll continue to keep you posted on such things here as well.

The Tale of the Tiger

by Kurtis Fujita

The predatory cat is a fluid canvas of copper orange, adorned with meandering black lashes of camouflage. While hunting, its low stalking is reminiscent of the way the sun glances along the horizon’s edge before disappearing with silent grace at sunset. When attacking, the Tiger leaps with a trajectory and fierceness only equaled by the raw power of an indigo blue wave rising and crashing along cliffs by the shoreline. A silent intensity is often felt as its amber eyes survey its dominion, punctuated only by onyx pupils that are as cold and empty as the fields before it. None dare challenge his authority and with good reason indeed.

In both the Chinese Zodiac and the Martial World of Kung Fu, the Tiger is venerated for its tenacity and ferocity. Indeed, it could very well be argued that it is the most powerful of the real life animals embodied in both the aforementioned landscapes. This conclusion may easily be arrived at when one realizes that only the mythical Dragon surpasses this magnificent beast in both scale and grandeur...
