I look back to just a short year ago and how I would be scrambling to come up with something to write to you about. Our MUSEletter archive reveals that last June brought with it a milestone of a missive. The story of how My Dog Ate My Homework and the announcement of my Kickstarter Campaign.

I hope this month's missive is equally inspiring. Let's begin with the good news that literally kicked off the month. The announcement that A TIGER'S TALE has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Make More Comics Grant! You can read about that in greater detail below if you'd like to know more.

Suffice it to say that this bit of recognition has confirmed the inspiration to devote the past year (almost to the date) striving to bring this project to the public.

The reason I'm encouraging that click is because this is the only award where you can make a difference. Last time, I mention how SPECULATIVE FICTION FOR DREAMERS was also a Top 10 Finalist for the 2022 LOCUS AWARD. It also turns out to be in a TOP 3 Finalist for the 1st Annual Utopia Award!

Unlike the MMC Grant, I won't experience a direct financial benefit from SPECULATIVE FICTION FOR DREAMERS winning any (or all) of these awards. But this sort of recognition kind of transcends a monetary value. It has something to do with the prestige, not just in the traditional sense, but also in its magical  connotation. The final consequence of an act of conjuration; in the case of SF4D - a more powerful voice for the stories we are all creating.

One final celebratory note. In marking the 14th week since A TIGER'S TALE was officially funded I had the unique pleasure of hand-delivering the very first copy. In the company of my loyal beast we payed a visit to a long time friend and supporter who is actually one of three heroic backers to have made the actual journey onto the pages of this graphic novel.

I still have a selection of other copies to hand-deliver while even more are already en-route; moving at different speeds. But it's my hope that these backers will also join me in celebrating the delivery of these books by posting pictures, unboxing vids or even reviews, once they have copies in hand.
