The Spooky Season has come to aTigersTale.com. We've been examining the mythical monsters, ghosts & ghouls of Asia; Yōkai (Japan) or Yāoguài (China). A treat for fans of KPop Demon Hunters, Trese or Mononoke - in October we'll be hosting deep dives into their lore with translations from some historic texts and ancient works of fiction. For example -

Meet the Face Swiper (Shuāliǎnguǐ 刷臉鬼). 

It's taken a lot of will-power to hold on to this announcement and await the right moment for its reveal. It's not every day a Kung Fu Master agrees to provide art for a personal project (humble brag: this is my second) and to have that master also be a seasoned comics pro. I'll call that a level up. This is why I'm so thrilled to to present our first look at the first ever variant cover of UNDEAD KUNGFU GHOST KILLER #1 - by Sifu Kurtis Fujita.

Sifu Kurtis got his start at Malibu/Marvel comics at about the age of 15, where he worked consecutively as an editorial assistant and later color designer. He has since worked on franchises like “X-Men” and “Lord of the Rings” and for clients like Sony Playstation and Universal. As a life long martial artist he initially studied under the legendary Grandmaster Y.C. Wong in San Francisco and later Grandmaster Raymond K. Wong of Los Angeles at the former’s behest. As a protege of both luminaries he learned a multitude of systems including Hung Gar, Tai Chi, and Do Gar, along with each system’s corresponding weaponry. 

He founded his own Martial Arts school, Tiger Crane Kung Fu, where which he still teaches and been a contributing writer for Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine where we first met and collaborated. Sifu Kurtis has also shared his expertise in seminars and online across the U.S. 

In just 7 days Undead Kungfu Ghost Killer will be launching on Kickstarter.com - Wednesday October 1st. Our Kickstarter page has collected nearly 100 follows. Help us reach 3 digits by sharing this missive.

I’ve mentioned, how valuable follower count is to a crowdfunding campaign, it indicates to the Kickstarter algorithm that this is a project worth spotlighting. Now that we've reached 75 I have a couple of examples. This project has already earned a PWL badge (Project We Love! 💚). It has also been included in Kickstarter's own WitchStarter event 🧙🏼‍♀️! All of which 😅 greatly increases our project's chance of success. It only takes a few moments (two clicks & maybe a log-in) to help us launch at 100.

And now to indulge that part of me that just can't wait to share news! I suppose it's my inner journalist that has me quick to jump at a scoop. It's occasionally gotten me in hot-water and crashed my site when others flock to find the originating source.  But over-all, worth it. that's why this scoop is coming in hot along with this unscheduled missive.

One of the OG Indie Kung Fu Comics is coming back! This time as a collected graphic novel. Don't be fooled by the issue 5 title, my inside sources say that big changes are coming to this project as it approaches 500 follows. Make sure to count yourself among them for the best chance for exclusive offers, fist looks another special features. What with a short film, action figures and more in the mix, early access will lead to sweet SWAG. Check it Out!

I'm in the home-stretch with a live-launch imminant … There are podcast appearances and a published interview on the horizon. All directed towards a crowded crowdfunding launch on October First.
