Having art on display at the Sun Gallery in Hayward California<\/a> (PLUS their associated books<\/a>) couldn’t have been better timed. The windows to the 100 year old cottage in which I reside needed to be replaced. Most significant of them was the ginormous front window of the ARTroom – where I’m writing you from. Unfortunately glass that large is prohibitively expensive so the walls were brought in on either side instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make space for all of this, the ARTroom would need to be rearranged; again. It’s something that happens every so often and this time the illustration table needed to be folded up, and art supplies put away. Also, boxes of surplus books needed to be moved: the area in front of the art room’s main window had accumulated storage and the supplies necessary for fulfilling various kickstarter campaigns. Art also needed to come off of some walls. <\/p>\n\n\n

Much of it ended up in the gallery. Just in time to be spared a light coating of saw dust from the whole window replacement process. I ended up finishing the painting of the interior myself (bottom right) and reorganized the deep storage disguised as that dark wood bench below the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within that storage space was a variety of memorabilia. There in was found early business cards and the last remaining copies of my 2908 auto-bio comic OL\u2019 SCHOOL<\/em>. This includes items from decades of work with KUNG FU TAI CHI<\/em> magazine (whose most recent issue is currently available). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Window upgrades have only just been completed, it took a little extra time to get the right window blinds in. There still remain a handful of blank walls around the house, but that\u2019s a minor inconvenience. It\u2019s also a chance to hang some pieces which I\u2019d originally had no wall space for. You can still find said art on exhibit until May 29, 2026 – a week later than previous scheduled. Evidently an effect of the show\u2019s popularity among school field trips. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
