IMPERFEComics issue 1

Let me give you a little background before we proceed. Not to long ago some dear friends, who I haven’t seen in ages (thanks covid) sent me a bit of a care package. Among the very cool stuff was a leather-bound and laser-etched pocket book. What set it apart from your typical mole-skin or note book (as if hand-binding and laser etching wasn’t enough) was its comic theme. Each page offered pre-ruled panel boarders. Perfect for journaling via sequential art.

So it became time to begin jotting down the many anecdotes that come to mind when thinking on the journey my love of comics has taken me on. Now, what you’re about to read is the result of stream-of-consciouness doodles with whatever pens where handy (some of them drying). All done on a book that measures about 3.5×4 inches. So unless you’re reading this on your phone you’ll be zooming in on some, at times, very small scribbles. luxuriate in all its imperfections, and typos too.

  2. If my mom had given me paper to draw with in the pews, I might be an entirely different person. Instead, I checked out all the people behind me and made up stories about them in my head…

  3. I’m looking forward to more issues of IMPERFEComics.

Your beginnings of drawing in the pews of church is like mine as well. My brother and I used to draw on communion cards during the sermons.

    1. That’s so awesome! I always believed there where others doing similar. Thanks for checking it out and commenting — let me point you to the MUSEletter archives where you can find more episodes.
