San Diego Comic-Con 2025

Photos & musings on last week’s mission to SDCC 2025

It’s been about 5 days since my return from San Diego Comic-Con 2025. This whole mission was a study in adaptability and liberation from attachments. Despite confining my press credentials early a trip to SDCC2025 spent equal time being an unlikely endeavor as it was a possibility.

Questions of room affordability and availability continued to arise even as a hotel reservation was offered. The chance to stay with long-time friends opened other possibilities but would involve a 60 minute train ride each way. It was not a terrible way to book-end my mission.

Here’s what my trip looked like—

Thursday: took an afternoon flight which had me arriving in San Diego around 4:20pm that day. A short bus ride & 2 block walk got me to the Hampton Inn where I would spend Friday & Saturday night. They generously let me check my bag so that I could take the conveniently located right-around-the-corner trolly. I was able to get into the convention floor just in time to visit one booth before closing.

Friday: mostly spent visiting with the hosts of my crash pad. But I was able to make it out to the Comics Experience mixer that evening.

Saturday: I targeted a few specific panels. One of them will be featured in KungFuMagazine. I also got to spend a bit of time in the convention floor.

Sunday: turned out to be “my best day.” A chance to connect with some friends I see only rarely.

Watch for my write-up featuring Martial Artist, stuntman and video game body double – Eric Jacobus.
