This announcement came to my inbox this morning and it’s too exiting not to share. First a bit of Background I’ve known Cornelius Boots for a number of years. I’ve caught several of his live performances and even had the distinct honor of an impromptu Shakuhachi performance during the reception for my first formal gallery appearance. I was alo fortunate to have a trusty friend with a camera.
As a fan of his work I had to share this news.
Crow Cavern” Music Video Release Event
April 28, 2023 – “8:30-9:15 am EST
Cornelius Boots“Bass clarinet & cello go together like dark chocolate and darker chocolate. My piece “Crow Cavern” was commissioned back in 2020 by Tasha Warren (bass clarinet) and Dave Eggar (cello) who then released “Ourself Behind Ourself, Concealed,” a six composition project (each by a different composer) in April 2022. The whole project and album has been rippling out more and more: 2 Grammy nominations, live dance choreography, multi-city performances and reviews and now — a stunning animated music video, created by Paul Dzubay (Tasha’s son) and featuring the artwork of Russ Warren (Tasha’s dad).
These back-to-back online events will happen on the Edmund Welles YouTube channel. LINK to the pre-launch roundtable chat.
