It’s always a strange experience being quoted, not that it’s kept me from writing in books, blogs & comics. I’m aware that I like to talk and I have a particular fascination with language – it’s always inspired me towards an elaborate vocabulary. I have fun with words even if I have difficulty pronouncing them.
Maybe it’s the classic New Yorican upbringing the loud Spanglish, clatter of cooking and MUSIC. Or maybe it was during those Rave party promoting days when I developed the knack for listening and being heard among the clamor. But I can’t think of an instance when I’ve been so specifically quoted for something I said off the cuff.
A longer version of clip was posted in the Kids Comics Unite Community. It was my closing remarks during our Lunch & Learn titled WORKING COLLABORATIVELY.
“Optimism is an act of will. We all as creators have an opportunity and a responsibility to move that forward in the works that we create.”
