Who remembers my Wuxia Warrior commissions? The TLDR: I transform you into a legendary Kung Fu (Wuxia) Hero done in my newest, most luxuriant illustration style. People Love ’em.
I’m delighted to say that I’ve been invited to apply that style of illustration to a new comic-book cover! I’l be contributing a special variant cover to issue #2 of Sifu Kurtis Fujita’s Shadow Ghost. It’s the Kung Fu Comic by a Kung Fu Master. I got to go a bit off model with this character and lean into my Wuxia sensibilities. All to help build out the Shadow Ghost universe with this Alt-Design.
There’s a lot of deep lore behind this cover m, Kurtis and I will go into detail about that a little later on. Kurtis will then reply by sending you a copy of the Shadow Ghost Digital Sketchbook! It’s filled with behind-the-scenes development material, early character designs, and raw creator process pulled from the series. It will come in handy when we break down the details & symbolism behind the character design and my resins for going off model 😎
